How Often Should You Get Your Car Professionally Detailed?

There's no single answer to how often you should detail your car — it depends on a few key factors: how much you drive, where the car is parked, and whether it already has a protective coating.

For daily drivers without ceramic coating, we recommend a maintenance wash every 4 to 6 weeks, paired with a full decontamination detail (clay bar, iron removal, wax or sealant) every 6 months. This keeps contaminants from embedding into the clear coat and prevents oxidation from building up.

If your car is ceramic coated, you can stretch maintenance washes to every 6 to 8 weeks, since the coating actively repels dirt, water, and light contamination. You'll still want an annual inspection to check the coating's hydrophobic performance and top it up if needed.

Vehicles parked outdoors, especially under trees or near industrial areas, need more frequent attention — bird droppings, tree sap, and airborne pollutants are some of the most damaging things your paint encounters, and they should be removed within days, not weeks.

Interior detailing follows a different schedule. If you have kids, pets, or eat in the car regularly, a deep interior clean every 2 to 3 months keeps stains, odors, and allergens from building up. Otherwise, every 4 to 6 months is generally sufficient.

The simplest rule: the more your car is exposed to the elements or daily wear, the more frequently it needs attention. When in doubt, book a consultation and we'll recommend a schedule tailored to your specific vehicle and driving habits.
